Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, December 28th at 1:30 PM at the LaCrosse Methodist Church. She will be laid to rest at a later date at the Hay Cemetery. Aileen was born July 9, 1922 in Monroe, Washington to Adolph and Ila (McIntyre) Stebler. She grew up in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Highline High School there in 1939. She met John Henley, Jr. through a cousin at her church and the couple later married in Seattle December 4, 1944. They lived in Seattle for a short time where he worked for the Boeing Company. They moved back to Hay, Washington, where John was from, in the spring of 1945 and took over the Henley farming operation. They lived on a ranch 3 miles west of Hay. John did the farming and Aileen kept busy as a homemaker and mother to their 3 children. She was also a member of the Hay Baptist Church, the Friends and Neighbors Club, Hay Ladies Aid and LaCrosse Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling on a league in Pomeroy and liked doing embroidery. She was a terrific gardener and especially loved her roses and taking care of her yard. Aileen was an excellent cook and always fed the "extras" that seemed to show up at her table. She loved to take long walks down the canyon on their ranch. She is survived by her loving children; daughter Jeannine Larkin of Hay, son Randy and his wife Nancy Henley of Coeur d'Alene, ID. and son Gary Henley of Puyallup, WA as well as 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and her 2 sisters, Lydia Johnson of Athol, ID. and Duwania MacKinnon of Sequim, WA. Aileen was preceded in death by her husband John in 2004. Memorial gifts can be made to the Church at Hay or to the Shriner's Hospital. On-line guest book is at www.bruningfuneralhome.com
