Our beloved mother, Angela Rae Norris of Colfax, Washington, sadly passed away on September 15, 2026, at the age of 61.

Angela was born to Don and Sharon Norris on May 18, 1965, in Eureka, California. She lived in Cutten for a time before her parents moved the family to Los Angeles for a short while. They eventually returned to Cutten, where Angela attended Cutten Elementary School and Winship Junior High.

In 7th grade, Angela met Cindy Dunaway, and by 9th grade they had become best friends. During their 10th-grade year at Eureka High School, they volunteered as candy stripers at St. Joseph Hospital. Mom still had her uniform all these years later — she saved everything.

Angela and Cindy even introduced their parents to one another, and the families quickly became close. So many weekends were spent together, mostly at Mom's house. They would go bike riding all over Eureka and stop by Cindy's mom's house to visit. Angela also loved going to the stock car races at Redwood Acres. She would sometimes lose her voice from cheering and yelling for the car she wanted to win. Cindy's brother would pick the girls up and take them to the track.

When Cindy moved away in the summer of 1982, their friendship continued. They stayed in touch and shared a special friendship that lasted 48 years.

After graduating from high school, Angela attended the CNA program at College of the Redwoods alongside a very special person who was close to her heart — her mother, Sharon.

In 1985, Angela met Dale Coonrod, and they were married in April 1986. Angela already had her oldest daughter, Amanda, who was born in January 1986. Together they welcomed their daughter Danielle in 1988. Angela and Dale were married for 20 years before divorcing in 2004.

Angela later remarried, and she and her girls moved to Endicott, Washington. After living there for a while, they eventually moved to Colfax, where Angela made her home until her passing.

Mom was a strong, independent woman — and very stubborn. She was caring, honest, loyal, and fiercely devoted to the people she loved. She especially loved her five grandchildren and cherished every moment she had with them.

She wasn't just our mother. She was our best friend.

She will be deeply and fiercely missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Sharon Todd and Donald Norris, her grandmother, Florence Norris, as well as grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Talley and her husband, Anthony Talley of Colfax, Washington, and Danielle and her husband, Jeff Ogden of Payne's Creek, as well as her five grandchildren, Michael, Braxton, Hunter, Daniel, and Makayla. She is also survived by her cousin, Tracy Nelson, and Bob Nelson of New Mexico, along with many other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
