Anita Colleen Gehret, age 61, of Tekoa, Washington, passed away on May 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Anita was born on November 10, 1964, in Houston, Missouri.

Anita spent much of her life caring for others as a CNA and caregiver. She worked hard and gave so much of herself to the people around her. She had a heart big enough for anyone who needed comfort, support, or a place to belong.

On October 19, 2001, Anita married the love of her life, David Gehret, in Riverside, Washington. Together they built a life centered around family, love, and perseverance. For the past five years, Anita made her home in Tekoa, Washington.

She is survived by her husband, David Gehret; her children, Bonnie Smoot (Ernest), Derick Miller (Stephanie), and Christina Miller; her stepchildren, Danielle Gehret, David Gehret, and Zachary Gehret; along with many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Eunice.

Anita loved gardening, collecting ladybugs, music, surrounding herself with miniature knickknacks and keepsakes, and her church. More than anything, Anita carried her family through difficult times with unwavering strength and determination.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Tekoa Community Church with Pastor Levi Hatch officiating. Anita will be laid to rest at Goldenrod Cemetery.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
