Ann (Packham) Merriam, 62, of Moscow passed away on Wednesday April 9, 2014 in Moscow. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday April 11, 2014 at the Joseph Street Stake Center of the LDS church in Moscow, with concluding services to follow at the Moscow Cemetery. Viewing is one hour prior in the Relief Society Room.
Ann was born on October 14, 1951 to Charles Orsen & Marian (Hepworth) Packham. Ann grew up in Blackfoot, Idaho and attended Ricks College in Utah. She then married her high school sweetheart, Gill Spencer, with whom they had 4 children. She later married Jared McMillan (Traci Murry), and they had one daughter.
Ann became a "transplanted spud" in 1987 when she moved to Moscow to attend the University of Idaho, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education. She worked for the University of Idaho where she became part of the WWAMI program as an administrative assistant. She worked up to the time of her passing.
Ann married Steve Merriam on December 26, 2002 and stayed in Moscow. As a devoted member of the LDS church, she was active in the Relief Society. She loved sewing and was an avid reader of mystery and Christian romance novels. She was also an amazing cook and was known to her family as a "dessert specialist".
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be remembered as a very kind person who was devoted to her family, and in her service to others.
Ann is survived by her husband Steve Merriam; children Amy (Jerry) Huffstutler; LaDawn Spencer-Dodge; Andy (Ashley) Spencer; Christina Spencer and Michelle McMillan; her father Charles "Bud" Packham; and siblings David Packham, Scott Packham, Lynn Hatch, Pam Gonzales, Carla; and 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, one brother, and one grandson.
