In Loving Memory of Anne Marie Picone Zenk

October 22, 1939 – October 10, 2025

After a sudden illness, Anne Marie Picone Zenk passed away on October 10, 2025, in Richland, Washington, just shy of her 86th birthday. Born on October 22, 1939, in San Francisco, California, Anne Marie (who preferred to be called "Marie") was the eldest daughter of Santo Bartholomew Picone and Leonida Dorothy Dericco.

Marie married David E. Zenk, on September 26, 1965, recently they reached their 60th anniversary. Together, they built a home in Novato, California and later lived in Santa Rosa, California, and Washoe County, Nevada until they retired to Waitsburg, Washington where they have resided for the last 20 years. A working mom, Marie returned to school while raising a young family and earned her GED and Associate of Arts degree in 1979 — an achievement that reflected her lifelong belief in education and perseverance.

After completing her studies, she worked with the US Military and the US Fish and Wildlife department. When not working or studying, she played league softball and league bowling. Marie was a woman who valued her family, staying active, and her Italian-American heritage. Marie loved reading, and was especially fond of mysteries and crime thrillers, which interest went along with her studies in criminal justice

She was the proud mother of eight children and is survived by Kathy Bracisco, Eleta René Brown, Monte Ray Zenk, Patricia Madden Quiner, Joseph Raymond Madden, and Michael Garrett Zenk. Marie was preceded in death by her sons, Russell Zenk and Brian Zenk, whose memories she carried close to her every day.

Marie's legacy lives on through her 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her husband, David, and a large extended family who will hold her in fond remembrance

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Corbeill funeral home chapel at 111 S. 2nd street Dayton, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice in Marie's memory.
