Arlene B. Grimes, lifelong Colfax resident, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Whitman Hospital in Colfax. She was 79. Memorial Services for Arlene will be held Wednesday, April 18 ^th , at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bruning Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Colfax Cemetery next to her parents. Arlene was born April 11, 1938 in Colfax to Thomas and Ada Rose (Walker) Brannan. She grew up in Colfax and attended Colfax schools, graduating with the class of 1956. Arlene attended the Kelsey Baird School for Business in Spokane and upon completing her courses there she worked at Eastern Bank in Spokane for about one year. She returned to Colfax and began working for the LeMaster & Daniels Accounting Firm. She married Lou Grimes in Colfax on September 28, 1995. Arlene was well known in Colfax and was a fixture at work where she retired as office manager after more than 40 years behind the desk. She and Lou liked to travel, she loved her dogs, and she kept busy at the Whitman Hospital Auxiliary and the Blue Bird Gift Shop at the hospital. Arlene is survived by her husband, Lou, living in Pullman; and by her sister Shirley and her husband Jean Magrath of Spokane. She was preceded in death by her parents.
