Arnold Franklin Knott, 95, long time Endicott resident, passed away December 30, 2010 at the Whitman Health & Rehab Center in Colfax. No public services are planned. Arnold was born Sept. 19, 1915 to Edward and Della (Richmond) Knott at Dayton, Washington. He was the third of six brothers, Harold, Robert, Arnold, George, Gordon, and Jim.
He grew up on several farms in the Winona area and attended Winona High School. He attended WSU in Pullman for several years and was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity there. He married Muriel Lilienthal and setup farming on Union flat where he had a son, Gary.
Following his first marriage, he married Francis Kennedy and she later preceded him in death. They had two children, Darryl and Janice. He subsequently married Marie Schmidt and she also preceded him in death.
Arnold farmed on Union flat from 1940-1957. He was then the co-owner of Freddy's restaurant and bar in Othello for several years. In later years, he worked for the McGregor Company as manager of the Endicott plant. He made his home in Endicott since 1960.
He married Betty Bafus in 1973. Arnold enjoyed bird hunting and he was an accomplished trap shooter. He also liked to follow WSU athletics. He was a member of the Endicott Gun Club and the Colfax Elks Lodge.
He is survived by 2 sons; Darryl Knott of Yakima and Gary Knott of Silver Spring, Maryland, as well as 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in 2004, his daughter, Janice Ficca, his 5 brothers and his parents.
