Arrietta Kay Huffman, longtime Albany, Oregon resident, passed away suddenly on February 3, 2023 at her home in Colfax, Washington. She was 61. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 4 th , at 2:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ-Latter Day Saints, 1615 28 th Avenue SE, in Albany, Oregon. She will be laid to rest in the Willamette Memorial Park Cemetery in Millersburg, Oregon. Arrie was born September 12, 1961 in Linn County, Oregon to Richard Rudolph and Tanna Sorenson. She grew up in Albany, Oregon minus a few years spent in Southern Idaho near Rupert, before graduating from high school in Albany. Arrie was raised by her step-father, Gary and her mother Tanna and grew up in a large family with 8 other siblings. She worked at Dairy Queen when she was a teen-ager and at the age of 19 Arrie married Kenneth Horn. They made their home in Albany where he farmed and they raised their two girls. Arrie worked for many, many years as a retail clerk for Fred Meyer. They enjoyed camping in the Cascade Mountains, trips to the beach, and family vacations. Arrie liked to cook and the family remembers her special enchiladas. She also really liked to host large family gatherings. Arrie loved it whenever the family would get together. After twenty years she and Ken were divorced. She continued to work at Fred Meyer in Albany and in 2008 she met David Huffman and they married November 9, 2008. They were both very active in their church. Arrie taught primary Sunday school. She always had a love for animals and was routinely surrounded by them. Arrie and Dave moved to Colfax, Washington two years ago and have enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and rolling farm fields of Whitman County. Arrie always said, "Love you bigger than the mountains" and she will be missed by her husband, Dave, at home in Colfax; two daughters, Sarah (Nathan) Haile of Albany, and Katelyn (Joshua) Stevenson of Lebanon, OR.; by her 5 grandchildren of whom she was so proud, Rylee, Kohlie, Eden, Brittan, and William; by her parents Gary and Tanna Gooch of Albany; and by her siblings, Jeannie, Debi, Michele, Chris, Tonya, Tandy, Todd and Thomas.
