BETTY MAE RICHMOND, 90, of Pullman, WA passed away Sept. 2, 2015 at Pullman Regional Hospital. Betty was born March 13, 1925 in Brookfield, MO to Guy & Beaula (Cambell) Ringland. She grew up and attended school in Forker, MO. Following graduation from high school Betty worked for Pratt-Whitney Aircraft Company during WWII. She later attended beauty school and worked as a hairdresser for a time. She met Raymond L. Richmond Sr., while working as a beautician and they were married on Jan. 18, 1946 in LaClede, MO. They made their home in Forker, MO until 1957 when the family moved to Pullman. Betty went to work at Washington State University and was the Food Services Manager for many years until her retirement. Betty was an accomplished artist, who created many wonderful watercolor paintings through the years. She was a member of the P.E.O. and Simpson United Methodist Church. Together Betty and Raymond enjoyed traveling. They traveled extensively throughout the US especially the South Western part of the country, as well as England and Scotland. Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed time spent with family. She is survived by her son Raymond (Nancy) Richmond of Moscow; her daughter Phyllis (Jim) Kincaid of Colfax; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Raymond Sr., she was preceded in death by two sisters. The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 at 2:30 PM in the Independent Living social hall at Bishop Place Retirement Community. Private family burial will precede the memorial service at the Pullman Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to Friends of Hospice or to the P.E.O. Scholarship Fund.
