Brenda Merry passed away on March 29, 2026, after a life well-lived serving those around her. Brenda fought a long and courageous four-year battle with cancer and has gone to be with her Savior in Heaven.

Brenda was born February 12, 1960 in Pullman, WA to Melvina (Pinky) Mael. Brenda was the second oldest joining her brother Jim (Nails), and later, her younger brothers, David (Nails) and Chris (Tuttle). Brenda lived in Colfax, WA for most of her life and was very active in her compassion towards others serving them through caretaking or waiting tables. Brenda was married to Dennis Merry in 1990 and lovingly raised her children, Joe, Jennifer, and Jud Doak. Brenda was active in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

Prior to caretaking, Brenda was a waitress at the family businesses, the Top-Notch Café and Bulldog Pizza. Brenda worked diligently to make every customer feel like family. Brenda was known for her hard-working demeanor and her willingness to serve others. After the businesses were sold, Brenda continued serving others at Hill Ray and later DreamWorks in Colfax. Brenda had a profound impact on those around her as she always wanted to make others feel loved. Brenda had a natural knack for caring for others and that will be something that her family and those close to her will dearly miss.

Later in life, Brenda attended the Colfax Church of the Nazarene faithfully. Her celebration of life will be held at the Church of the Nazarene in Colfax on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11 AM. She is survived by her sons, Judson Doak (Colfax, WA) and Joe Doak (Omak, WA). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Torrin, Madison, Maya, and Bleu. Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; mom, Pinky; and daughter, Jennifer.
