Obituary

BRIAN THOMAS DECKER, 53, of Albion, WA passed away Feb. 11, 2016 at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax, WA. Brian was born Dec. 20, 1962 in Missoula, Montana. He grew up and attended school in Stevensville, MT where he played high school football. Following high school, in 1981, Brian enlisted in the US Navy serving on the USS Midway. His tours of duty took him to Japan, Vietnam and other Pacific regions. Following his honorable discharge, in 1987, Brian returned to Montana. In 1989 he got toegether with Debbie and they began their life together. They made Albion their home since that time. He enlisted in the Army National Guard the end of 1989 and was honorably dischared the end of 1990. Brian welcomed Debbie's children into his life and helped raise them as his own. He attended North Idaho College where he received his electrician certifications. Brian was a journeyman electrician working for M & M Harrison Electric until his death of an unexpected heart attack. He enjoyed life and his interests included demolition derby's; 4 Wheeling, camping and his motorcycles. His friends and family were the most important, he would drop anything to help others with anything, any time, anywhere. Brian especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren whom he loved very much. He is survived by his wife Debbie at the family home in Albion; his three sons Travis Chalmers and his significant other Karla; Josh Chalmers and his fiancée Jessica; Jay and Jamie Castro; his mother Marilyn Walford-Decker, his sister Stacey Decker and four grandchildren (Duke, Jakob, Thomas, and Liam) with another one on the way (Kinsley). A memorial gathering will be held at Albion City Park on Friday, February 19th, 2016 at 6pm. Kimball Funeral Home and Crematory of Pullman, WA is caring for the family.
