Bruce Donald Schmick, (U.S. Marine Corps Veteran) 78, beloved husband and father passed away Monday October 4th at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.

Bruce was born on July 7th, 1943 to Raymond and Esther Schmick in Endicott, WA where he was raised.  Bruce grew up on their family ranch in Eastern WA, along with his brother Stephen and sister Sharon.  He graduated from Washington State University, later served as a 1stLt in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was medically retired after his service in the Vietnam War. Following his return, he attended Pacific Lutheran University where he received his Masters of Arts degree.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Christine Schmick and his three children, Erika, Shannon and Aaron.  Bruce and Christine were married for 47 years and resided in Olympia, WA where they raised their family.  Bruce was always his happiest when surrounded by family, and loved ones.  He had a strong Christian faith and love for the Lord and passed that same love and belief on to his family. Bruce battled both Parkinson's and sever diabetes for many years. He lost his battle with both as his ailing body failed him.  We rejoice in knowing that our Lord and savior Jesus Christ has welcomed him into the kingdom of the Lord.

He will be laid to rest in Endicott, WA. Funeral services and celebration of life are pending and will be announced at a later date.
