CAROL ANNE KIMBALL, 91, of Pullman, WA passed away Jan. 26, 2015 at the Hospice House of Spokane following a year of loving care at the Purity Adult Family Home in Pullman. Carol was born Oct. 20, 1923 in San Jose, CA the 5th child born to David & Alice (Crette) McCracken. She grew up in San Jose and attended school there, receiving top grades and letters in basketball, softball & volley ball. Carol loved music her entire life with either the radio on or records playing most of the time with dancing when time permitted. She and her older brother George were quite the adventurers as kids. Following high school Carol married Bill Kimball and later in life the couple divorced. During their life together they had and raised two children Bill Jr., and Gerry. With the children in tow Carol spent much time outdoors, where she rode motorcycles, skin diving, snow and water skiing as well as snow mobiles and horses. She also liked driving trucks, fork lifts and spent many hours plowing snow in a 6X6 military truck. Carol loved hunting deer, elk, moose, waterfowl and upland game and was a crack shoot throughout her life. Some of her favorite times were spent fishing in Mexico, even catching a sailfish on one particular trip. Carol also enjoyed golf, tennis, watching sports on television and always had a special love for animals. There was not a time in her life she didn't have a dog as her companion. Bill Sr., was a general contractor who built many homes throughout the years. She assisted in all parts of the industry and later helped with the operation of their own business, building cabinets, pre-hung doors and producing other building essentials. The family lived in perhaps 20 different homes all the time assisting in the construction and remodeling of those homes. Carol stayed busy raising the children and keeping track of their father, always tending to injuries & illness and keeping a good sense of humor most of the time. Carol loved entertaining family and friends and was a terrific cook. After a weekend at the beach clamming & fishing, Carol could be found cleaning, slicing, & chopping the clams and abalone. All while the kids were at school. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers & her son Bill Jr. Carol is survived by her daughter Gerry (Bill) Clark of Pullman; two sisters Marian Dale of Ennis, MT; Margaret Mastrian of San Jose, CA; 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild with one more on the way; and all of her nieces & nephews. Kimball Funeral Home and Crematory cared for the family. A service of remembrance will be held at a later date.
