IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol
Myers
August 5, 1951 – October 21, 2025
Carol Myers
Everyone has a gift if they allow God to reveal it to them. Carol was a teacher. It was not her chosen profession. It was more of an obsession. It was not a job with summers off; it was what consumed her waking hours. Summers were spent in preparation for the following year's challenges. Her father had to co-sign her first contact as she was not yet 21 years old when she got her first job teaching. Shortly thereafter she got her Masters while she was still in the classroom. Her superpower was reading. She could teach a monkey to read. She would work with the gifted and the challenged with equal fervor. No one was going to leave her room a failure. She expected and got results from her students and they loved her for it.
This mindset was applied to her family life as well. Everyone was going to have what they needed to succeed. Hot meals, clean clothes, and a bright beautiful place to live was the baseline. When you think of Carol consider how she lived. A life redeemed by Jesus Christ, given to God, and directed by the Holy Spirit will change everyone around them. That's the whole idea.
Carol was preceded by her mother, Elsie Elizabeth Fries, her father, Harry Orvel Fries, and her sister Donna Rae Fries. She is survived by her husband, William Joseph Myers, her daughters, Kelli Joy Collins, and Kendra Joette Trump. She has four grandchildren Joseph Collins, Brougham Collins, Katie Trump, and Owen Trump.
The family suggests memorial donations in Carol's honor to "Save the Palouse" at savethepalouse.org. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Catalyst Church – Fairview Campus. Corbeill Funeral Homes in Colfax is caring for the family.
