Obituary

Charles Guy Dion, 73, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, formerly of Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas passed away June 23, 2017 in Uniontown, Washington while visiting family. Charles was born April 8, 1944 in Minneapolis, MN to Charles & Margaret (Christian) Dion. He grew up and attended school in Minneapolis and at the age of 17 enlisted in the United States Air Force during which time he was stationed at Austin, TX. Charles began his college studies while in the Air Force and upon his honorable discharge completed his education. He worked for General Electric before establishing his career in sales, first in the insurance industry and then in public sanitation. He married Cheryl Stout in Austin, TX on June 5, 1978 and together they made their home in Austin until recently moving to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Charles was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always was there when needed. He drew great satisfaction in all they did and accomplished especially enjoying being present at all the activities his grandchildren were involved in. Charles was a man with a positive outlook on life with a special southern charm. His quick wit and sense of humor would always light up any room. He was indeed a calm, caring and genuine person who loved to travel, loved people, animals and playing golf. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl; his three sons Eric (Tierney) Dion; Peter (Lisa) Dion; John (Carrie) Dion; his 6 grandchildren Christian, Tina, Courtney, Nicole, Dannielle & Brooke; two brothers Jerry & Denny Dion and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A short memorial gathering with viewing will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, Washington.
