Cheryl was born on March 18, 1955, in Pullman, Washington to Thomas Holway and Iris Dippel Holway. She was the middle child of three girls in the Holway home. She grew up in the country outside Palouse and attended school in Palouse where she played basketball, was on the swim team, and played the trumpet in the school band. Cheryl graduated with the class of 1973, then attended Spokane Community College for about one year.

Cheryl worked as a cashier at Rosauer’s Grocery Store in Pullman, where she met Art Krieger. Cheryl and Art fell in love, married and made their home in Pullman. She later worked as an office manager for many years for Wilbur-Ellis Company. Cheryl was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She could brighten the entire room and constantly had people laughing with her sense of humor. She loved animals of all kinds and usually had dogs, cats and even birds at her home. Cheryl loved spending time in the yard; whether tending her plentiful tomato plants, pruning her flowers, or mowing the yard, she enjoyed it all. She was an avid Cougar sports fan and basketball enthusiast. Cheryl loved watching her son, Justin, play sports; she never missed a game and even traveled to attend many of his college baseball games. She loved spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed taking her grand kids to the park and out for treats.
