Christopher John DeYoung passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2025 at the age of 32. He was born November 4, 1992 in Colfax, WA to Doug DeYoung and Laura Getz. Everyone who knew Christopher remarked on his kindness and how he bent over backwards to always help anyone as much as he could. All his years of schooling were through Colfax schools where he graduated with the Colfax High School class of 2012. For many years he worked in the food service industry. In 2017, he moved to Whidbey Island where he made many friends through his work at Little Ceasars Pizza. Having returned to Colfax in 2023, he worked along side a family on their farm as well as worked at Rosauers Grocery before accepting a position at Jones Truck and Implement in the shipping and receiving division. It was there that he made many more friends. Christopher had a passion for all animals, the beach, video games, disc golf, movies, the Seahawks, his work and his family. One thing he loved to do was go fishing with his brother. He is survived by his parents Laura Getz of Colfax and Doug (Tonya) DeYoung of Odessa, TX; his brother Brian DeYoung of Moscow, ID; as well as the Kristofer Parkins family, the Kyle Parkins Family, the Terah Beran Family, the Justin Parkins Family, and Samara and Frances Zuckerbrod. He is also survived by his grandparents Ken Getz and Sandy and Myron Fortsrom; his many cousins, Neal, Nick, Megan, Ryan and their families as well as his aunt and uncles John DeYoung, John Getz, and Dave and Cindy Getz. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jack and Berylene DeYoung and his aunt Colleen Rhuby.

Christopher did everything he could for everyone and never asked for anything in return. He had a passion for animals which has prompted a request by the family for memorial donations to be made to the Whitman Humane Society or to a shelter of your choice.
