Claudia Ruth
Fine

Claudia Ruth Fine, College Place resident and formerly of Dayton, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 at St. Mary's Hospital in Walla Walla. She was 74. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 5th, at 11:00 AM at the Faith Chapel in Dayton. Burial will follow in the Dayton Cemetery.
Claudia was born August 22, 1950 in Inglewood, California to Alfred and Gwendolyn Bird Binford. Early years were spent in California where she graduated from high school. She moved to Bend, Oregon in 1969, married, and started her family shortly thereafter. Claudia kept busy as a homemaker and mother. She also moved around a little bit. From Bend she moved to Klamath Falls for a while and then lived in Bethel, Alaska for a time where she worked as a police dispatcher. She moved to Albany, Oregon from there before finally settling in Dayton, Washington in 1988.
Claudia worked as a waitress at The Inn in Dayton and later as a bank teller at SeaFirst Bank. She married Jackie Myron Fine November 1, 1990. She loved to go for drives, music of all kinds, and teach her kids to dance. She was an avid seamstress and could sew anything. Claudia was also a good cook and liked to make roast with carrots and potatoes and made fantastic fried chicken. She was thrilled when the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along and she loved them all. Her husband Jackie passed away March 16, 2010 and soon after she moved to College Place, Washington where she has lived since. Her last few years in retirement have been around family and life slowing down as her health started to decline.
Claudia is survived by her children; Tiffany (Jim) Hays and Michael Duval; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren of whom she was so proud; and her sister, Candace Norris and brother, Craig Binford. In addition to her husband Jackie; she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Gretchen Gibbs, and by her parents.
