Dana Scott Derdeyn (called Scott), 59, of Walla Walla, WA passed away September 9, 2022 while on a fishing trip along the Snake River. Scott was born November 12, 1962 in Enid, Oklahoma to Clark H. & Betty Jean (Stabe) Derdeyn. The family lived in Oklahoma until 1976 when they moved to Sierra Vista, Arizona. Scott graduated from Buena High School in1981 and then attended Cochise Community College. He later moved to Lahoma, Oklahoma with his grandparents where he helped operate the family farm eventually transitioning to the role of caretaker. Following the death of his grandparents he moved to Walla Walla, WA to be close to his parents. During his years in Oklahoma, Scott was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served on the church's finance committee. He was a voracious reader and especially enjoyed history and historical politics. Scott enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He is survived by his parents Clark H, & Betty Jean Derdeyn; his sister Sheila Derdeyn; two aunts Pat Holsch and Shirley Lodes and one uncle Stephen M. Derdeyn. Scott was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Herman and Ruth Stabe, and paternal grandparents, Marcel H. and Jessie Derdeyn. No public services are planned at this time and Corbeill Funeral Home of Dayton, WA has been entrusted with arrangements.
