Davon McCulloh Nickerson, Colfax resident, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018 after a short, but very hard fought battle against cervical cancer. Davon was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was born October 30, 1977 in Cumberland, Maryland to David and Yvonne Gaer McCulloh and moved to Colfax, Washington when she was two years old. She attended Colfax schools and participated in Cross Country and softball. She loved to sing and was a natural on the stage during the annual musical performances. Davon graduated from Colfax High School in 1997. As the youngest of six siblings she often babysat for her older sisters children. She loved people and made many friends. Davon lived in Spokane from 2004 to 2013 and kept busy with her three children whom she loved so much. She liked to spoil her kids, go shopping with them, and spend quality time with them. In Colfax she worked for several years at Dreamworks Residential as a caregiver. She had a true soft spot in her heart for the residents there and was always a kind, caring, empathetic caregiver. Davon treated everyone she came into contact with in this same compassionate way. She will be truly missed by her three children; Brooklyn Nickerson of Spokane, Gavin Nickerson and Naomi Gustaffe both at the family home in Colfax; as well as by her mother, Yvonne McCulloh, at home in Colfax; her siblings, Anna Andersen of Anchorage, AK., Jon McCulloh, Norman, OK., Bambi Stanley of Spokane,  LaVenna Cai, Colfax, and Champ McCulloh, Colfax, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, David in 2011 and by a niece, Aimee. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 17 ^th , at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Colfax.
