Dianne Y. Wigen Geary, 83, passed away on November 21, 2018 at Whitman Hospital and Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Peace Lutheran Church. Dianne was born on August 11, 1935 in LaCrosse, Washington to Peter and Edna (Carlson) Wigen. Dianne grew up and attended high school in LaCrosse graduating in the class of 1953. Following high school she started working for the LaCrosse telephone company for 7 years before moving to Portland, Oregon. It was in Portland that she met her husband, Robert. They married in October of 1969. They moved to Spokane a few years later where she attended schooling at Spokane Community College. Bob passed away in 1982. A few years after his passing, she moved to Colfax to help care for her mother. She cared for her mother until she passed away in 2010. Dianne was a lifelong Lutheran attending church in LaCrosse and Colfax. Dianne loved caring for and spending time with her nieces and nephews. You often found her crocheting Afghans and hats for her family. She also enjoyed her time working for the hospital auxiliary Blue Bird shop. Dianne is survived by her five siblings; David Wigen of Othello, WA, Harriet (George) Mackleit of Colfax, WA, Jurgen (Johnna) Wigen of Spokane, WA, Marvin (Marilyn) Wigen of Oakesdale, WA, Kermit (Jolene) Wigen of Pullman, WA and sister-in-law MaryAnn Wigen of Colfax, WA; her step-children, Darla Hill of Canby, OR and Debra Simmons of Mollala, OR; 3 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Geary, her brother, Bob Wigen, a step-son, Dean Geary and by her parents. Memorials can be made to the Selbu Lutheran Church or to the Peace Lutheran Church.
