Donald "Ja Link Ka" Fountain, 88, lifetime Pullman, WA resident passed away May 4, 2025 at his Pullman home. Donald was born July 3, 1936 in Colfax, WA to Warren & Elinor "Ella" (Reiger) Fountain. He grew up in Pullman, graduating from Pullman High School in 1955 where he lettered in baseball and track. He then spent eleven years serving in the National Guard. Donald married Sandra Lou Lane on August 8, 1965 in Moscow, ID and together made Pullman their home. He spent his working career at Washington State University in the facilities department as a painter until he retired. He was a member of the Toastmasters for 37 years, WSU Retirees Association, Moscow Elks Lodge, the Pullman Senior Center and the Unity Church.
His interests were many including dancing, music, golf! and attending WSU sporting events. He enjoyed volunteering, connecting with people and traveling, especially through the southwestern states. Donald was a certified spiritual healer, ordained minister, and practiced massage, body work and metaphysics. He changed his name to Ja Link Ka in 1997. He enjoyed clowning as Slinkey for over 20 years throughout the region and beyond. He participated in Bloomsday for 11 years, even one year clowning throughout his "run". He racewalked with the Comets Track & Field Club and enjoyed ushering events at WSU. Ja Link Ka was eager to provide help to his friends and family.
He is survived by his daughter Heidi (Steve) Cohen; his son Blake Fountain; his grandson Seth Cohen; nephew Michael (Paulette) Lowery; great nephew Jim (Colet) Lowery and great- great niece & nephews Presley, Kelton and Jennar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sandra "Sandy" Fountain, sister Florence Finney and her husband George Finney. A memorial service to celebrate Ja Link Ka's life will be held at Corbeill Funeral Home, Pullman, WA on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1 PM. A reception will follow at the Ridge Pointe Community Club House.
