Donna Lee Camp, longtime LaCrosse area resident, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025 at The Courtyard in Colfax. She was 97.

Donna was born April 29, 1927 in Colfax, the middle child of three to Lee and Ethel Lukins. She attended the Hamilton Grade School before graduating from Colfax High School in 1945. Donna was a majorette in the marching band in school. She went on to attend Washington State College for a brief time.

Donna met Melvin Camp, a LaCrosse farmer and native, at a livestock show. They were married on November 18, 1946 in Colfax and made their home on the ranch near LaCrosse. She maintained a large garden and kept busy as a homemaker and mother. Donna and Melvin raised four children on the ranch. She rode horseback quite a lot and both were active as 4H leaders with their kids. She was an accomplished seamstress and liked to sew and quilt.

When it was time to retire, she and Melvin turned the ranch over to their son Steve and moved to a home in Post Falls on the Spokane River. Donna moved back to Colfax and to The Courtyard in 2017.

Donna is survived by three children: Nancy Ann Case of Tok, Alaska, Steve Camp of Kendrick, Idaho, and Leann Hibbard of Palouse, Washington; by 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, a son Alan, her brother Richard, sister Frances Druffel, and by a grandson Eric.

The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Shriner's Hospital or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. A family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Garfield Cemetery. On-line guest book is at www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
