Obituary

Donna Sullivan, former Colfax restaurant owner, died peacefully in her sleep on April 1, 2015 in Colfax. She was 82 years old. Graveside services for the family and friends will be held at Colfax Cemetery Saturday, April 4 at 2:00 pm. She will be interred next to her husband of 58 years, Vern Sullivan.

Donna was born January 5, 1933, in Spokane, WA to Lloyd and Frances Day. Donna was a graduate of Colfax High School. She married Vern Allen Sullivan in Superior, MT on June 30, 1950. They lived in Spokane where they started a family before moving to Los Angeles, CA. Donna stayed home to raise their five children. In November 1970, Vern and Donna moved back to Colfax where they owned and operated a number of restaurants together including: Sullivan's 195, the Korner Koffee Kup and J's. Later they owned and operated Sullivan's in Palouse. They moved to Clarkston, WA in 1984 where Donna worked at the coffee shop in Wassum's drug store for several years.

Donna's last years were spent at The Courtyard in Colfax where she made a home for herself. Because of her sweet disposition, many of the staff referred to her as "The Sweetheart of The Courtyard". The Sullivan Family would like to thank The Courtyard and its wonderful staff for their excellent care. They were truly a blessing.

Donna loved gardening, especially taking care of her roses. She also crocheted beautiful afghan throws for family and friends. Donna was a woman of faith and a member of St. Patrick's Church.

She is survived by her children; Nancy Stanard, Colfax, WA; Debbie Higgins, Arden, NC; Terry Sullivan, Blanchard, ID; Susie Sullivan, Spokane, WA and Scott Sullivan, Clarkston, WA; grandchildren; Heather, Melissa, Katie, Kim, Jason, Brandi, Reece, Skyler, Victoria, Matthew, Joshua and Kenny; her great grandchildren; Elijah, Xavier, Isaiah, Kyden, Sawyer, Scheyd, Damian, Ethan, Ava, Kylee, Tavish, Axel, Cash and Raiden. Also surviving, sister, MaryLou Cooper, Kalispell, MT. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Sullivan, and granddaughter, Chantel Sullivan.
