Doris L. Brown, mother and mother-in-law of Bob and Norma Schultz of Colfax passed away August 9, 2020 in Whitman Medical Center, Colfax. She was 102. Graveside services will be held in Nampa, Idaho.
Doris was born September 11, 1917 in Twin Falls, Idaho and moved to Nampa, Idaho when she was a baby, her parents and siblings enjoyed a country life during the depression. Her family memories were many and filled with love.
She graduated from Nampa High School in 1936, met her future husband Walton Brown at a farm festival, they were married June 25, 1937 and farmed south of Nampa and raised their two children on the farm. Doris was active in the Bennett community, loved to dance. She was a doting mother and loved to have her grandchildren near her. All the family enjoyed her famous dinners with lots of good food. One of her great-grandsons sent her a thank you note after he had stayed with "keep up the good cooking".
After her husband passed away in 2004, she spent the winters in the Schultz home near Colfax and made friends in daughter Norma's various activities, the Plymouth Congregational Church and Norma, Bob and Doris had many RV trips together. She also was an honorary member of their Motor Home Club.
Doris was an amazing and sweet person and lived alone in her Nampa home until age of 101. She moved to Colfax just over a year ago to live with Norma and Bob.
She is survived by her daughter Norma (Bob) Schultz, two sisters, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, and three siblings.
