DORIS FAYE KINTNER (89) of Colfax, WA passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at the Whitman Health and Rehabilitation Center in Colfax. Doris was born Jan. 23, 1923 in Grandview, WA to Fred & Edna Jones. She grew up on the family farm between Grandview and Sunnyside, WA graduating from Sunnyside High School. Doris attended Linnfield College and Multnomah University in Portland, OR. She met Alton Kintner and they married on June 16, 1944 in Sunnyside. They made Philadelphia, PA; Denver, CO and Portland, OR their home while he completed his seminary education. Together they served churches in Enterprise; Hood River and Portland, Oregon. She was supportive and involved in the many ministries of the churches that she and Alton served. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She loved cooking, sewing, quilting, reading; as well as many camping trips with family and friends. They moved to Spokane following Alton's retirement where she made her home until 1999 when she moved to Colfax to be near her daughter, making her home at the Hill Ray Plaza. Doris was an active part of and hosted the Colfax Women's Prayer Group. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Doris is survived by her daughter Cheryl Kintner of Pullman; her son Ron Kintner of Arizona; a brother Bob Jones and two grandchildren Robby & Amy Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband Alton. A memorial service will be held at 1 PM on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at the Colfax Baptist Church.
