Dorothy Lucille Harris, 76 of Colfax Washington passed away surrounded by family at Sunshine Terrace memory care in Spokane on October 11, 2017. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 18 at the First Baptist Church in Colfax with the Reverend Richard May officiating. A reception will follow
Dorothy was born in the Onecho area outside of Colfax Washington, the fourth of four children to Fred and Vera Brannan on January 5, 1941. Dorothy grew up on the farm and attended schools at Onecho and Colfax graduating from Colfax high school in 1959. Dorothy attended Kinman Business School after graduation.
On June 4, 1961 she married Larry Harris and they made their home in Colfax where they raised their two sons. Dorothy's passion was taking care of her family, which she did her entire life in spectacular fashion. She worked several jobs around Colfax but if you asked her, she would say her most important job was being a mother, grandmother, and wife. She lived that out every day taking care of her family, and spoiling her grandchildren every chance she got. She loved planning, and taking the family on vacations where she was always looking after everyone's needs. She truly put others first in everything she did.
Dorothy belonged to several organizations and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Colfax. She was steadfast in her faith, knowing that she would be with her Lord in heaven.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons Bob (Wendy) of Spokane and Doug (Jeanette) of Maple Valley; grandchildren Erin, Cody, and Isabella, and one brother Eugene (Scooter) Brannan of Colfax. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Harris, brother Harlan Brannan, and sister Maxine Hodge.
