Obituary

Earl Dale Enos, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed into his Savior's arms on July 1, 2025. He was born in Colfax, WA on October 3, 1934. He was raised on a farm by his parents, Dale and Vic Enos and learned the value of hard work at a very young age.

At just 10 years old, he started "spotting" trucks during harvest – a humble beginning to a farming career that would span nearly 60 successful years. Following graduation from Colfax High School in 1953, he attended and graduated from the University of Washington before being drafted into the United States Army. He served in the 82nd Air Borne unit at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and later became a sergeant in the National Guard. He then went on to do graduate work at Washington State University. He lived 90 years on the farm except for his time in the military and in college.

He met the love of his life at the First Baptist Church in Colfax where he was an active member. He married Ruth Yates Lessig on June 13, 1965 and adopted her three daughters; Lili, Beth, and Becky. By choice, he lovingly took on four girls on the farm.

Earl served God in many ways; preaching, teaching, and Bible School besides many leadership roles. Over 17 years as an assistant coach at Colfax High School, he helped many young men become better wrestlers.

Earl's girls have many fond memories of a humble dad and faithful husband of 60 years. He was also known for his incredible strength, very hearty appetite and taking his many nieces and nephews on a "bear hunt" at family reunions. A special 60th anniversary celebration just a few days before his passing was an amazing gift from God. He was preceded in death by his twin at birth, his parents, a brother, Lynn, sister, Mary, and a granddaughter, Ellaina.

Earl is survived by his wife, Ruth; his three daughters, Lili (Mike) Hare of Spokane, WA, Beth (Ron) Davidson of Montana, and Becky (Mike) Henckel of Walla Walla, WA; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous other family members. A celebration of Earl's life is planned for Friday, September 19, at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church with a meal to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the First Baptist Church, The Gideons, or to the Union Gospel Mission in Spokane.

Corbeill Funeral Homes of Colfax is caring for the family. On-line condolences may be made at www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com
