Obituary

Edgar "Ed" Adolph Sinkbeil, went home to heaven August 15, 2012, he was 92. Ed was born one of twelve children, September 11, 1919, in Zeeland N.D. to Adolph and Pauline (Melhoff) Sinkbeil, where he graduated from Zeeland High School in 1938. In 1941 Ed enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard and was in the 164th infantry. After being sent to the South Pacific in 1942 he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1945. Ed then briefly lived in Dayton, WA before settling in Colfax in 1949 where he managed Burn's Auto Parts, later Colfax Auto Parts for 32 years until retiring in 1982. He married Ione Wilson August 4, 1951 together they had three children. On January 15, 1975 Ione passed away. Ed married Thoral Urness Sevedge June 5, 1987. They absolutely loved to travel together. You could always count on seeing Ed walking Main Street in Colfax. He participated in lots of different V.F.W. activities, was a member of the American Legion, and a longtime member of the Methodist Church. Most of all Ed loved to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife Thoral of Colfax, daughters Susan Sinkbeil of Spokane , June Brumley of Spangle WA, and son Bruce Sinkbeil of St. Paul, OR, Stepson Robert (Julie) Sevedge, Stepdaughter Lana Maupin, Grandchildren; Michael (Tracy) Brumley, Justin(Sarah) Brumley, Jennifer Brumley, three great granddaughters , sisters Calma Sapp, Patty Busk, Bernice Huber, brother Ray, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at the Colfax Cemetery Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. Everyone is invited to join Ed's family for a lunch reception at the Methodist Church in Colfax following the graveside service. The family suggests that memorials be sent to Colfax Methodist Church, Whitman Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Whitman Hospital Auxiliary.
