Obituary

Edward Barton of LaCrosse passed away at his home on February 22, 2017. He was 59. The family will hold a private family gathering. Ed was born October 9, 1957 in Spokane to Edward, Sr. and Betty L. Smith Barton. He spent his formative years growing up in Everett, WA. and Trout Creek, MT. His dad took a job with the railroad and the family moved to LaCrosse when Ed was 12 years old. He graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1975. Ed moved to the Tri-Cities where he drove a taxi cab for a while and then to Mattawa where he worked for the school district as a groundskeeper and also did some work in the area orchards. He moved back to LaCrosse twenty five years ago and has been employed as a farm laborer both for LeRoy Rehman and more recently for Roger Carter. He loved animals. Ed loved building campfires along the Snake River and walking the shores looking for arrowheads. He liked to explore old building sites or old farm equipment. He liked fishing and motorcycle riding. Ed has been retired for three years for health reasons and hasn't been able to work. He is survived by his six siblings; Gene Barton of Centralia, WA., Cindy Hazel of Winona, Gwen Badtram of the Tri-Cities, Beverley Dodge of Hay, WA., Maria Simon, Tri-Cities, and Arlea Anderson of Post Falls, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents. On-line condolences may be left at www.bruningfuneralhome.com
