Edward Lowell Moys was born July 20, 1933, and passed away peacefully on January 21, 2018.
In his early years, Lowell enjoyed taking trips with his mother, Layne Storment, to visit various places around the United States. He was a graduate of Colfax High School, class of 1951, and attended WSU for a year and a half playing drums in their marching band. Lowell then went on to serve in the Army, and on one of his leaves, he came home to marry his high school sweetheart, Sharon McClintock, on August 8, 1954. Lowell was a hard-working man who held multiple jobs, from farming, landscaping, small business owner and sales. He retired in 1998, and it was then that he and Sharon started their eight-year journey traveling around the US in their motor home. They spent the majority of the winter months in Palm Desert, where they eventually ended up calling it home for twelve years. Although retired, Lowell still worked driving semi and landscaping during the summer months in Colfax.
Lowell had a real passion for life. He loved spending his time with his family and friends camping and motor bike riding. He especially liked taking his grandchildren to the Oregon Coast every summer and even more so, he loved that he got to spend his life with his best friend, traveling and meeting new friends. Lowell had an infectious smile and could get just about anyone to carry on a conversation with him. He was a patient man, always willing to listen and share his wisdom.
Lowell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sharon, his son, Jeff (Kelly) of Brush Prairie, WA, and daughter, Marla Morrell (Bret) of Walla Walla. His four grandchildren, Melissa Lowery (Justin), Kyle Moys (Shauna), Brett Baker and Kayla Morrell, nine great grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Lynne McClintock, nephew Don McClintock (Elaine), nieces Trudy Libey (Gary) and Lori McClintock, and "little brother" Stuart Deysenroth. He is preceded in death by his mother, Layne and brother-in-law, Stan McClintock.
