Obituary

Elna Anne (Sharp) Paulson passed peacefully into rest on August 10, 2017; at the age of 87. On October 4, 1929 Elna Anne was born at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Washington. She was the eldest of three children. The Sharp family resided in Steptoe, Washington. Always a scholar, Elna Anne was the salutatorian of her graduating class from Steptoe in 1947 and continued her education at Eastern Washington College, graduating in 1951. Elna Anne loved teaching children and was blessed to be a part of so many lives in her lifetime. At a dance hall in Ewan Elna Anne met the love of her life Wilbur Paulson; they were married in 1954, and celebrated 63 years of marriage. They settled in Rosalia raising their two sons. After her retirement from the Rosalia School District in 1993 Elna Anne became involved with the Daughters of the American Revolution; serving in many roles including Regent. She was a member of Rebecca Lodge, Rosalia United Methodist Church, a fabulous cook, talented pianist and gifted many with her crocheted blankets. For the last four years Wilbur and Elna Anne have lived at the Touchmark Senior Living community. Her love for sharing ice cream, hot tea and conversation will be missed by many but mostly by her beloved Wilbur who never left her side.
Elna Anne is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Georgia (Land) Sharp. She leaves behind her loving husband Wilbur Paulson, sons Kevin (Helen) Paulson, and Arlin (Cindy) Paulson, 5 granddaughters Stephanie (Jeramy) Drake, Erin (Marc) Lundt, Marla (Matthew) Mathison, Kimberly (Max) Robinson, and Kristin Paulson, 5 great-grandchildren, Logan and Emmett Drake, and Henry, Macey and Hilty Lundt, her sister Delores Storment, brother William Sharp (Betta), and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
There will be a graveside service at 10:30am Wednesday August 16th at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe, WA. Followed by a formal Memorial Service at the Rosalia United Methodist Church at 1:30pm.
