Obituary

Eoin Edward Oravetz, 21, of Wiesbaden Germany, passed suddenly in his sleep on Jan 14, 2023, at Pullman, Washington. Eoin was a proud WSU student, and truly enjoyed his time and friendships there. Cherished son to Jennifer and Perry Oravetz, idolized brother to Oisin and Maeve. Grandchild to Lindi Endicott [deceased] and Roger Oravetz (Arizona), Sean Farrell [deceased] and Betty Farrell (Ireland). Nephew to Leanne and David Oliver (Texas), Emmet & Sinead Farrell, and Sean Farrell (Ireland). Cousin to McKinley and Annie Oliver (Texas).

Born in London to Irish and American parents, Eoin was raised in Italy and Germany, all his education before WSU completed at U.S. Department of Defense schools in Heidelberg and Wiesbaden, Germany. Eoin was an Eagle Scout, Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 107, Order of the Arrow, Winner of Arthur M. & Berdena King Eagle Scout Award from Sons of the American Revolution, Winner of the Post 27 VFW 'Watch on the Rhein' Voices of Democracy Essay Competition. He came 8 th in Europe on his Varsity Air Rifle Team (and could outshoot his father with a rifle – but not pistol...yet), was Captain of the Wiesbaden High School Robotics Team 3011 and winner of the Society of American Military Engineers [SAME] scholarship which he used to attend a STEM course at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.

He travelled extensively throughout Europe with his Scout Troop, parents and swim team, and the US and Canada with his Robotics team. He was an avid Sci-Fi fan: reading and movies, especially Star Wars related and actually read the whole of the Dune series which should be an award in itself. Eoin loved, dogs, Metallica and rock music, Lego, Irish traditional music, dogs, German beer and Guinness, Castles, tree climbing, hiking, Switzerland, hammocks, ...dogs, mom's and dad's desserts, shooting with his dad, spuds, dogs, helicopters, working on his dad's projects around the home, sending his mom memes, playing video games with friends, playing on-line chess with his uncle and walking on Irish beaches.

He lived the Scout law every day, he was Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

He will be missed beyond measure by all those who knew him, he was a wise and beautiful soul.

If you want to remember Eoin, just look for beauty in the night sky, climb a tree, a mountain, walk on a beach. He is there.
