ERNIE DAY, 65, a lifelong Palouse, WA resident passed away April 7, 2015 at Pullman Regional Hospital. Ernie was born August 2, 1949 in Moscow, ID to Lester & Del (Frost) Day. He grew up in Palouse, WA where he attended school, graduating from Palouse High School. Ernie attended college in Spokane where he received his Associates Degree. He worked in Portland, OR for a time as a carpenter returning to Palouse working for a rock crushing/road construction company in the area. Ernie began his career at Washington State University in 1984 as a carpenter, working his way up in the housing and dinning services department where he served as the Director of Housing until his retirement in 2013. Ernie married his high school sweetheart Marcie Miller on March 15, 1986 in Coeur D'Alene, ID. Together they made their home in Palouse,WA. Ernie loved working on their home, enjoyed remodeling projects through the years as well as spending time in his garden. The time he spent following his grandsons sporting events brought Ernie great joy. Among his other interests throughout life were boating with family, playing golf, traveling, dancing and of course socializing with his many friends. Ernie is survived by his loving wife Marcie at the family home in Palouse; his daughter Stacia Palmer of Federal Way, WA; his three grandsons Evan, Jordan, Tyson and his wife Elisha: his two sisters Leslie Allen and Bobbi Noble and his two nephews Matthew and Brady Noble and their families. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering to celebrate Ernie's life will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 6 PM at Banyans on the Ridge Pavillion in Pullman, WA.
