Eunice Delayne Sweetwood, a cherished fourth-generation resident of Dayton, Washington, passed away peacefully November 28 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and community service. Born on February 27, 1940, to Earl and Beatrice Walker. Eunice graduated with her classmates from Dayton High School in 1959.

On November 6, 1959, Eunice married the love of her life, Donald Dean Sweetwood. Eunice was a devoted mother to her daughter Cheryl (Jeff) Tucholke and son David (Leslie) Sweetwood. Her family expanded with the joy of grandchildren: Mark Tucholke, Jennifer (Drew) Williams, Samantha Sweetwood and step-grandson Luke Hepler. She was blessed with great-grandchildren Sarah and Elijah Williams.

Eunice's life was enriched by her passions for reading, painting, and enjoying real-life television shows. She found joy in the great outdoors, often camping with her family and assisting her sister with ranch work along the Patit and Starveout country roads. She never turned down an offer to ride along looking for wildlife in the Blue Mountains. Her love for music was evident as she sang in the choir of the United Brethren Church.

Eunice volunteered at the Dayton Senior Center, offering her time and compassion to those around her. She is survived by her sisters, Shirlee Marvin and Earlene Cleveland.

Eunice was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald, her parents Earl and Beatrice, her brothers Eugene and Dennis, and step-grandson Jeremiah Hepler. Her life was a testament to love, family, and community, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
