Obituary

Evangeline Marie Nadine Mathia passed away May 17, 2022 in Endicott, WA, from a drowning accident. She was born March 6, 2020, at the Whitman Hospital and Medical Center in Colfax, WA, the only girl and youngest of five children born to Christopher Scott Mathia and Jana Maurine (Davidson) Mathia.

Evangeline was the piece that made her family complete. She was adored by her older brothers and the princess to her father. She was Mommy's little shadow and the light of her life.

She had a joy-filled life on the family farm outside of Endicott, WA. She enjoyed animals, picking and smelling flowers and plants, and playing in the dirt and water. She liked to watch the trains go by and to ride with Daddy and her brothers on the UTV and motorcycles. Evangeline made everyone smile when she would sing and dance. She loved to help Mommy and Daddy in whatever they were doing, even if her "help" wasn't quite so helpful. She was an avid fan of Dr. Suess and liked to watch "Bluey" and an assortment of Disney favorites and musicals. She was also known as Eva and Eevee to family and friends.

She is survived by her parents, Christopher and Jana Mathia, and four brothers – Cameron (13), Kellen-Christopher (11), Blake (7), and Madog (5) of Endicott, WA. She is also survived by her grandparents – Leonard and Tracy Mathia of Garfield, WA; Kevin and Mary Davidson of Colfax, WA; and her great-grandmothers, Carolyn Arnett of Colfax, WA, and Nadine Jones of Garfield, WA; aunts and uncles – Shaena and David Nelson of Endicott, WA; AJ and Heather Mathia of Colfax, WA; Jance and Kelly Mathia of Pullman, WA; Robert and Michelle Crook of Colfax, WA; Kara Davidson of Fairbanks, AK; Dustin Davidson of Colfax, WA; Rena Davidson of Buhl, ID; and numerous cousins and extended family. She was also well loved by surrogate grandmothers – Joan Claussen of Steptoe, WA, and Beth Moxley of Firth, ID.

She was preceded in death by an aunt, Mariah Mathia, and an uncle Bobby Mathia, who died in infancy.
