Obituary

Florence E. Leinweber, longtime Endicott resident, passed away October 5, 2011 in Clarkston. She was 80. Florence was born at Winona, Washington November 2, 1930 at the family farm to Peter and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Scheuerman. She attended Winona schools until their closure in 1948 and then graduated from Endicott High School in 1949. She worked for Adele Photography in Colfax. In 1950 Florence married Merlin Leinweber and they made their home in Endicott. In 1958 they moved to the farm which was between Endicott and Winona and for the next 46 years of their lives they worked the land together. Florence also kept busy as a homemaker and mother raising their daughter and son. They retired to Clarkston, Washington in 2004. Mr. Leinweber passed away in 2008. Florence spent much of her time involved with family, gardening, and Trinity Lutheran Church. She was always active as a caretaker for senior citizens in town and was often cooking for them, helping with groceries or light house cleaning. Florence was a fantastic farm cook and she was well known for her German dishes, especially German noodles and egg nog pie. It seemed extra people always knew to show up at her house around lunch time. She always took great pride in her appearance and how she dressed no matter the occasion. She enjoyed bottle feeding the lambs and watching the Angus calves run in the pasture. Florence is survived by her daughter Deborah Sherwood and her husband Stewart of North Bend, WA; son Ryan Leinweber and his wife Kathy of Clarkston, WA; sisters Laverne Despain of Endicott and Darlene Byers of Whitefish, MT and numerous nieces and nephews. She also has lifelong best friends Dolores Mader and Hazel Blumenschein both of Colfax that she always considered part of her family too. Viewing will be Monday afternoon and Tuesday at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, October 12th at 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott. Vault interment will follow at the Endicott Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Endicott Cemetery. On-line guest book is at www.bruningfuneralhome.com
