Francene Fowler Filan
Francene Fowler Filan, 79, died July 30, 2016 at her home in Hay, Washington.
Francene Lenore VanTine was born November 17, 1936 to Leonard and Blanche Attebery VanTine. She grew up in Elberton, WA and attended school there. Francene married Don Dayton and they made their home in Colfax, WA. They had three sons. Their marriage ended in divorce and Francene married Jack Fowler. They were married for 29 years and had two children together. Jack passed away in 1985. Francene later married Willie Filan and they made their home in Hay, WA. Willie passed away in 2003 and Francene resided in Hay until her passing on Saturday, July 30th.
Francene loved quilting, knitting and crocheting. Her home was full of the many wonderful things she had made.
She spent much of her life camping and fishing on the Snake River with good friends and family. Those memories were dear to her. In later years she fell in love with technology and because of her desire and persistence she mastered the computer and modern electronics. Her home was full of entertainment that gave her hours of enjoyment.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Dwight Dayton, sister Norma Kavanaugh, husband Jack Fowler and husband Willie Filan.
Survivors include children Don Dayton, Jr., Spokane, WA, Craig Dayton (Cathie), Bow, WA, J. Thomas Fowler, Jr. (Denise) and Rhonda Pittman (Scott), Colfax, WA. Sisters Doris Divine, Garfield, WA and Carol Haight, Post Falls, Idaho. 12 grandchildren, 17 great children and one great great grandchild and special friend, Fritz Zimmer.
Graveside service will be Thursday, August 4th at 11:00 AM at the Colfax Cemetery. A celebration of her life will follow at the home of Rhonda and Scott Pittman.
