Frances Irene Emerson, 86, a longtime resident of Albion, WA died on June 3, 2016 at Bishop Place Retirement Community in Pullman, Washington. She was born Aug. 5, 1929 in Moscow, ID to Gust & Caroline (Wiltermood) Peterson. She was raised and attended school in Moscow where Irene graduated from Moscow High School. She married Donald LaVerne Emerson, Sr., from Albion on Nov. 23, 1947 and has been married for 68 years, living all but the last few years in Albion. Mr. Emerson (Dad) now resides at Glen Haven Homes in Pullman and Frances Irene (mom) has been at Bishop Place. Mom was an accomplished artist (oil painting) and loved crafting & gardening. She worked for a time as a meat-cutter at Dissmores but most of her life spent her time as a homemaker taking care of the family. She so loved the Palouse and considered it to be God's country. She is survived by her daughter Sherry (Jim) Noeldner of Hansville, WA; her son Donald Emerson, Jr., of Las Vegas, NV; her five grandchildren Kari Metzger, Kelly Suhr, Shane Emerson, Teresa Green & Malynda Emerson as well as 8 great grandchildren.
