Frances Louise Reese (Storment) , 77, Malin, OR, passed away February 9, 2012, at the at the Sky Lakes Medical Center, Klamath Falls, OR, of congestive heart failure. Services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Endicott, WA Viewing at the church prior to service. Fellowship with family following service.
Frances was born at home, on August. 2, 1934, to Hershel and Lena(Honn) Storment in Winona, WA She was raised amongst the wheat fields of the Palouse region on the family farm and attended school in Winona. She was active in 4-H, Grange, the high school paper and Girl's Chorus. Frances was the only senior, in 1952, and the last student to graduate from Winona High School. The school was closed at the end of that school year. Her family often teased her about being both Valedictorian and Salutatorian and closing down the school.
Frances married Alvin Ray(Jim) Adams (d. 1983) in 1953 and together they had five children, Jack(Diane) Adams of Puyallup, WA; Alisa(Doug) Matson of Spokane, WA; Alan(Annette) Adams of Portland, OR; Barton Adams of Battle Ground, WA; and Diana Adams of Rathdrum, ID. During their time together they lived in Washington, Ohio and Alaska. While in Anchorage, Frances worked for Northwest Airlines Flight kitchen. She experienced the large 1964 earthquake, along with her family, inside their single wide mobile home. Frances moved back to Washington and later married Lyle D. Harden, (d. 1986), in 1975. They resided in Enumclaw and than Auburn WA. After Lyle's death she moved to Kent, WA. She welcomed her much awaited first grandchild, in 1988, followed by 11 more in the following years. She was introduced to Roy Reece, (surviving) and they became a couple in 1992. She and Roy moved to and resided in Malin, OR. They traveled across the United States, with their camper, and were snowbirds.
Frances was very social and easily made friends wherever she went. She bowled on various leagues, participated in church activities, enjoyed fishing, camping, walking, knitting, baked the best maple bars and loved being behind the wheel of her Honda!
She was a member of TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly, since 1971. In March, 2011, she received an award for her 25 consecutive years of KOPS, Keep Off Pounds Sensibly, Status from the TOPS Club Int'l Headquarters.
Frances was never intimidated by the ever changing electronic technology. Especially if it was a new tool for communication! Her computer always went with her on her travels so she could stay in touch with family and friends. She was adventurous, had a fun
mischievous personality, loved children and animals and loved family get-togethers.
Frances is survived by two sisters, Joyce(Al) Dymond of Spokane, WA and Mary(Cliff) Klamer of Gatzke, MN.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard.
