GARY DEAN ADAMEK, 62, of Colfax, WA passed away on March 27, 2013 at his Colfax home. Gary was born March 24, 1951 in Ord, Nebraska to Edward & Jean (Baldwin) Adamek. He came to Washington as a young boy with his family where they settled in Pullman. Gary graduated from Pullman High School in 1969 following which he enlisted in the US Army. Gary served his country during the Vietnam War and following a total of three enlistments was honorably discharged. He had moved to Alaska during his time in the Army and decided to stay in Alaska where he worked in the oil fields. Gary married Peggy Preusser on Oct. 7, 1972 and following their time in Alaska, moved to Clarkston, WA. Gary & Peggy later divorced and he moved to Colfax in 1990, where he has made his home. Gary worked in the fertilizer industry since coming to Colax, working in several different capacities including service man and truck driver. Gary enjoyed building models, working puzzles, reading and building & operating remote control vehicals. He spent many hours watching sports of all types. He is survived by his daughter Laura Simmons (Nick) of Bozeman, MT; his mother Jean Albright (Robert) of Lewiston; sister Peggy Welch (Tom) of Colfax; his granddaughter Harper Simmons; two step brothers Roger (Tammy) Albright and Matt (Karen) Albright. Gary was preceded in death by his father Edward and his son Aaron. The memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax.
