Gloria Jean Riedner, 68 of Edgewood WA, passed away July 10, 2015 at her home with her family by her side of cancer. Gloria was born February 20th 1947 in Colfax, WA to Carl and Ruth Stewart. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1965 and married Rod Riedner that same year. They recently celebrated their 50th Golden Anniversary this June. Gloria is survived by her husband Rod Riedner of Edgewood, and their four children. Douglas Riedner and wife Leanne of Ballard, Denise Barwick and husband Andy of Edgewood, Daniel Riedner of Edgewood and Deborah Quy and husband Sean of Puyallup. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren ranging in age from 27 to 4 years. She also has two surviving sisters, Donna Holberg and husband Steve of Colfax and Betty Edinger and husband Palmer of Wilsonville, OR and 4 foster babies.
Gloria was raised on a wheat farm and remained a farm girl at heart her entire life. In addition to raising 4 children, she dabbled in everything from rabbits to honey bees and grew bountiful gardens of vegetables and beautiful flowers. Everyone was envious of her green thumb and she can take credit for teaching so many her gift. She was also an excellent seamstress, enjoyed quilting, knitting, and other countless craft projects. Gloria was an active member in the Four Square Church in Edgewood for the past 25 years. Although she was passionate about her hobbies, her greatest joy was being surrounded by her children and their families on a daily basis.
The graveside service will be held at Colfax Cemetery 804 Washington 272, Colfax WA 99111, on Saturday, August 1st at 2:00pm.
