Hallie Mae Vogler Goodrich passed away peacefully on July 21, 2015 at the age of 101. Hallie was born on March 27, 1914, in Minnesota to the Faye and Engie Walker family, the fifth of eight children. Hallie lived and worked on the family farm in Potlatch, ID, where her father also worked in the mill.
Hallie loved to dance, and met her husband, Emmanuel "Man" Vogler at a grange hall dance. She and Man were married May 5, 1930 in the church Man's father founded in Dusty, WA. They farmed their entire married lives and raised their children, Edgar, Donna, and Kay, near Dusty.
Emmanuel died October 16, 1957. Hallie and Kay moved to Colfax. Hallie worked many years in Central Supply for St. Ignatius Hospital and then Whitman Community Hospital. Hallie met Joe Goodrich in Colfax, and they both had a common interest in playing cards and dancing. They were married February 11, 1976, in the Colfax Methodist Church. They continued to play cards and dance. Hallie spent many hours working in her flower garden, and when the weather did not permit, she knitted and crocheted.
Hallie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Man and husband Joe (2001), and her daughter Donna (1995). She is survived by her son Edgar (Millie Mandarino) of BenLomond CA, and daughter Kay (David) Brooks of Billings MT. Hallie is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A private, family committal service will be held in Dusty Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Hallie's honor are suggested to the Whitman Hospital Foundation. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
