Helen Agnes Stilson, age 90, passed away April 20, 2015 at the Veteran's Home in The Dalles, Oregon. Helen was born July 28, 1924 in Durand, Wisconsin to Ignatz and Julia (Kainz) Wittig, a family of dairy farmers. She grew up in Wisconsin and following high school she entered the Army as World War II was still underway. She served in the WAC hospital company as a surgical technician. Later in life, Helen married Robert H. Stilson of Colfax November 14, 1975. They made their home in Condon, Oregon for many years and they travelled extensively from there. Many winters were spent in Arizona and summer trips to B.C. or Alaska for fishing were enjoyed by both of them. Robert passed away in 1994 and Helen continued to make Condon her home until her passing. She is survived by her children; Jan (Carol) Hayes of Noxon, MT, Tate Hayes of Yelm, WA, Tammy Palm of Quartzsite, AZ and Delcy (Mike) Shelford of Burns Lake, B.C.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several siblings and their families still living in Wisconsin. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son Jubal. Graveside services were held at the Colfax Cemetery.
