Irene Delores (Froseth) Lockwood (99) passed away on Tuesday, November 27 th , 2018 at Regency Assisted Living in Pullman WA. The youngest of 10 siblings Irene was born to John and Caroline Froseth on May 31 st 1919 in Spring Brook Wisconsin. She was raised there on the family farm with her seven brothers, Nels, Palmer, Harold, Herman, Julius, Clarence and Raymond Froseth, and three sisters, Gunda Swanson, Hilda Froseth and Norma Isakson. All have proceeded her in death.
She moved to Los Angeles, California and married Lloyd Vernon Lockwood on July 15, 1941. Together with their son David they established and operated LV. Lockwood Furnace Service. Irene has been a faithful member of the First Venice Lutheran Church in Venice, California and the Peer Gynt Sons of Norway Lodge in Culver City, California.
Her legacy is her outstanding love and devotion to her husband, who passed away after seventy years of marriage, her wonderful, unselfish love and care she has given her three children and spouses, Janice (Clayton) Legreid of Arroyo Grande, California, David (Joan) Lockwood of Menifee, California and Cheryl (John) Swain of Colton, Washington, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to the caregivers and staff at Regency Assisted Living and Kindred Home Health and Hospice over the past few years. God has truly been her refuge and strength and has led her to the Rock that is much higher. She is sharing her contagious smile and hearing the angels sing!
A family memorial service will be held at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, WA. Irene will be interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood, CA. at a later date. Memorial donations are suggested to Friends of Hospice, PO Box 484, Pullman, WA 99163.
