Obituary

Irma Louise Swift Davis passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, reuniting with her beloved husband, Harry.

Irma was born in Lamont, WA, in 1928 to her parents, Harley and Agnes Swift. She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Swift, and sister, Donna Swift Swannack.

In 1948, Irma married the love of her life, Harry E. Davis. Together, they raised three children—Carol, Kay, and Jackson—and worked alongside each other on the family farms at Lamont and Sunset. Irma taught by example, showing her family and others the values of hard work, kindness, and helping those in need. She and Harry celebrated 67 years of marriage before Harry's passing.

Irma will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was the epitome of kindness and love, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Irma saw value in everyone she met, offering warmth, understanding, and acceptance to all. Her true love of the Lord guided her actions, and her faith was evident in every aspect of her life.

As a true farmer's wife, Irma took pride in her work, and she was well-known for being an amazing cook. She hosted nearly every family gathering, preparing harvest meals that were as warm and inviting as her heart. Irma was also an exceptionally talented seamstress. She made many beautiful creations over the years, including bridesmaids' dresses, flower girl dresses, and even her own mom's mother-of-the-bride dress. Her creativity and attention to detail shone through in every piece she crafted, and she even made her own wedding dress, cutting it out on her dining room table.

Irma was deeply involved in her community, volunteering with organizations such as Eastern Star, the Lamont Grange, the St. John and Lamont Community Clubs, the Daughters of the Nile, St. John Schools and the St. John Methodist Church. She was a strong supporter of Harry's musical endeavors, attending nearly all of his performances with the El Katif Shrine Band, whether they were at dances, parades, or concerts.

Family was everything to Irma. She never missed an opportunity to show up for her loved ones, whether it was for birthdays, holidays, recitals, ball games, or graduations. Her unconditional love and support left an indelible mark on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Irma is survived by her three children and their spouses: Carol Jeffries (Tom), Kay Andersen (Dan), and Jackson Davis (Mindy); her grandchildren: Tricia Jeffries, John Jeffries (Shawna), Angie Withers (Ryan), Joel Andersen, Brittnay Davis, Danica Davis, and Shelby Davis; and her great-grandchildren: Houston Jeffries, William Jeffries, Jason Withers, Alyssa Withers, Roxas Castleman, and Paislee Johnson.

"We don't know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory." Irma has given her family a lifetime of wonderful memories, great recipes, and a legacy of love.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22nd at 10:00 AM at the Sprague Community Church. Vault interment will follow at Maccabee Cemetery in Sprague.

In honor of Irma's lifelong commitment to service, donations can be made to Malden Chapter #149 of Eastern Star or the Eastern Washington Transportation Fund for Shriner's Hospital in Spokane.
