Obituary

Jacquelyn Joy Romines, 74, resident of Colfax, passed away at Bishop Place Memory Villas on June 5, 2016. No local services are planned.

Jacquelyn was born on August 18, 1941 to Parry & Irene (Markle) Hill in Zortman, Montana. As a child, her family moved to the Ruby Gulch/St. Ignatius area of Montana and she was raised on the Flathead Indian Reservation. She often reminisced about growing up "old west" style, riding her horse to school and having to bring water to the house from the well. Circumstances eventually brought her to Bremerton, Washington where she graduated high school in 1958.

She worked in many different industries, including real estate, as a potato inspector and as a merchandising manager for Kmart. Her greatest passion, however, was training horses. She spent many years training all sorts of horses – from casual riding horses to racing colts. She loved animals and her time on the reservation taught her to truly love all of God's creatures.

Jacquelyn was incredibly crafty. It didn't matter the project, whatever it was she would start it from scratch. If she wanted to knit something, she'd go gather the wool directly from the sheep, clean and dye it and then spin it into yarn – all before starting the final project. She was a wonderful cook and a loving friend to all. She moved to Colfax in 2000 to be closer to her daughter.

She is survived by her children, Christine (Terry) Parks of Colfax; Craig Seamans of Bremerton and Brad Seamans of Montana, as well as one sister, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Memorial contributions in Jacquelyn's honor are suggested to the Whitman Hospital Foundation. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.bruningfuneralhome.com
