Obituary

Jay Ayers, of Rosalia, Washington, joined his parents Chris and Pearl Ayers at rest in the loving arms of Jesus on July 1, 2025.  He grew up in Burien, Washington attending school in the Highline School District, and in 2001 achieved his Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. Always one to work with his hands, he was a "jack of all trades" and spent his adult life working as a mechanic, welder and joined the Operators Union as a NCCO Certified Crane Operator in 2012.  A member of Local 302, he advanced quickly becoming a General Foreman, and finally an Assistant Superintendent, running jobs in the Pacific Northwest for two different construction companies.  He loved to train-up others in the industry and ensured their safety and success in the field.

He loved cars and riding his four-wheeler in the backcountry of Washington and Idaho, but most of all, he enjoyed the freedom of jumping on his Harley and escaping on the backroads of this country, attending many motorcycle rallies throughout the years.  He enjoyed hunting but had taken up fishing as a new hobby to enjoy while relaxing on his boat on Lake Coeur d'Alene.  His greatest joy in life was spending time with those who called him Papa.  He loved deeply and unconditionally, always willing to give a helping hand, never able to say no to those who needed his help.

Jay will be dearly missed by his wife Sandra Krause-Ayers, daughter Chevy (Hunter), granddaughters Kayden, Harmony and Azaria, sons Nikko and Mycah Ayers, stepmother Peggy Ayers, brother Chris (Dawn) Ayers, mother-in-law Joan Engdahl, brother-in law Tim (Kristina) Krause, as well as his nephews, step-siblings, many cousins and most of all the close friends he called family.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3606 S. Schafer Road, Spokane Valley WA, on Saturday, July 19th at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Jay Ayers Memorial Scholarship to benefit high school seniors pursuing a career in the trades at Garfield-Palouse High School in the Palouse School District.  To share memories and offer condolences to the family, please visit www.corbeillfuneralhomes.com.
