Maher
May 2, 1953 — Oct 18, 2026
Pullman, Washington
Jeanette left this earth earlier than she wanted but knew her time was limited once diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and auto immune disease in 2022.
Jeanette came into the world on May 2, 1953 with her twin sister Paulette. They joined their parents Paul and Virginia Gilliam and brother Russell.
Born and raised in Moscow, Idaho, she graduated from Moscow High School in 1971. She attended LCSC School of Nursing and transferred to Columbia Basin College in Pasco in 1994 to finish her nursing degree when she married Chris Carson. They lived in the Tri Cities and Jeanette worked at both Our Lady of Lourdes in Pasco and Kadlec Hospital in Richland before obtaining her Occupational Health Certification and working on the Hanford site for Washington Public Power Supply System during the construction of WNP-2. In 1983 she began working for Hanford Environmental Health Foundation. After 18 years of marriage Jeanette and Chris divorced.
Jeanette then moved to Yakima to work at the Farm Workers Clinic. From there she moved to Miles City Montana and was the CEO of Custer County Community Health Center. In 2009 Jeanette moved to Pullman to be closer to family. While in Pullman, she continued her nursing career with jobs at Bishop Place and Palouse Medical. In 2015 Jeanette married John Maher III.
Jeanette spent her final months under the wonderful care of Openwings Adult Family Home in Pullman. Special thanks to Evelyn and Harun for making Jeanette comfortable. Preceding her in death were her husband John, her parents Paul and Virginia and her brother Russell. Survivors include her twin sister Paulette Lowery (Mike), nephew Jim Lowery (Colet), stepson John Maher IV, grandniece Presley Lowery and grandnephews Kelton and Jennar Lowery.
At Jeanette’s request, no public service will be held. Contributions in Jeanette’s name can be made to the American Lung Association. Corbeill Funeral Home of Pullman has been entrusted with the arrangements.
