Obituary

Jeremy Otis Thompson, St. John/Endicott High Grad, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane from complications of liver failure. He was 31. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, June 11th at 11:00 am at the St. John United Methodist Church, 106 S. Jennings, St. John, Washington, with a reception to follow at the Community Building. Jeremy was born April 1, 1980 in Moscow, Idaho to Bill and Becky (Youmans) Thompson. Jeremy grew up in several communities in Washington as a happy, active and social little boy. Jeremy's father Bill had the distinct privilege of serving as his principal in two of his elementary schools and as his high school counselor. In 1994 the family moved to St. John, Washington where Jeremy attended Jr. High and High School at SJE. He excelled in sports and played football, basketball, baseball and golf for his high school teams. In addition, he was in the band as a drummer throughout his school years. He also worked for area farmers. Jeremy graduated from the St. John/Endicott High School in 1999 and enrolled in college at Washington State University. During this time he worked at the Bank of Whitman in both Colfax and Pullman. He later transferred to Central Washington University and graduated in 2004 with a degree in business administration with an emphasis in management information systems. He worked as a computer web designer and share point developer for the next several years in Coeur d'Alene, Spokane and Seattle. Jeremy always focused on others. Jeremy always focused on others. He was a loyal friend, had an out-going personality, a terrific sense of humor, and was easy to be around. He enjoyed golf, snow skiing, music, photography, graphic arts, and computers. He loved spending time with his large extended family. Jeremy was a man of faith as evidenced by his recommitment to his Christian beliefs and values. He moved to Clarkston, Washington nearly a year ago to be near his parents, family, and friends. His health struggles this past year were many, but Jeremy never lost his focus. He leaves behind his loving parents, Bill and Becky Thompson of Clarkston; his maternal grandmother, Ellen Youmans Cosner of Moscow, ID.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved pug dog Bubba. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandfather. Jeremy's family would especially like to thank all of their friends and family for the tremendous outpouring of love and support and a very special thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at Sacred Heart who cared so much in all that they did for Jeremy. Memorial gifts are suggested to the St. John/Endicott Schools Foundation, PO Box 411, St John WA 99171
